Materiality
Materialities of the RYODEN Group (Key Issue)
The Group considers sustainability initiatives to be an essential management issue, in line with our mission of "Giving shape to “Waku-Waku (Excitement)” by connecting people and technology." Under the medium-term management plan ICHIGAN 2024, we have selected seven SDGs that are important for the Group's corporate activities, set targets for initiatives (KPIs), and proceeded with activities to achieve these targets. Under our medium-to-long term management plan ONE RYODEN Growth 2029 | 2034, which covers the five-year period from FY2025 - 2029, we will work toward solving social issues through our corporate activities in order to realize our vision of becoming an excellent company that co-creates the future. Based on the idea of aiming for sustainable enhancement of corporate value by balancing social and economic values, we have newly identified six materialities (key issues) that the Group should place priority on.
Materiality (Key Issue) Identification Process
STEP1 | Identification of Issues | Issues identified from the gap between the current situation and the value (=excitement) we can provide to our stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, suppliers, and local communities, are organized into 28 items with reference to international standards such as SASB and ISO 26000. |
---|---|---|
STEP2 | Importance Evaluation | Evaluation is based on two focal points: contribution to social sustainability and importance to the company's business. Six materiality candidates were selected with the participation of external experts, executives, and members of the ONE RYODEN Growth 2029 | 2034 project, a medium- to long-term management plan comprised of young and mid-career employees who will lead the future. |
STEP3 | Discussions with Management | Following discussions at the Sustainability Committee, the management team, including outside directors, exchanged opinions. |
STEP4 | Approval by the Board of Directors | Approved by the Board of Directors after deliberation by the Management Committee. |
Materiality Matrix
For each of the 28 issues, we conducted a materiality assessment based on their effectiveness and inevitability, centered on their contribution to the sustainability of society (social value) and their importance to the company's business (economic value).

Initiatives and Targets for Our Materialities (Key Issues)
Initiatives to resolve materiality are linked to the management strategy of the medium-to-long term management plan ONE RYODEN Growth 2029 | 2034. By steadily implementing ONE RYODEN Growth 2029 | 2034, we have established goals to achieve both social and economic value, leading to the sustainable enhancement of corporate value. The materiality and goals will be reviewed as necessary to reflect international social trends, changes in social conditions and the Group's business environment, by holding talks with stakeholders, etc.
